Craftsmanship

Appliqué is a technique that combines many individually cut pieces to form an intricate patchwork design. Each piece is couched in horsehair or thread-wrapped silk. Used mostly in Tibet for creating silk thangkas, we have adapted the appliqué technique to create a range home furnishings from cushions and bedcovers, to wall hangings.
