Sale price₹ 201,295

Dorje Sempa or “Spiritual Hero of Indestructible Reality” is an aspect of Akshobhya (Mi-kyod-pa-Tibetan) the deity associated with the vajra family, who usually appears in a blue form. Dorje Sempa is white in colour and the bodhisattva of purification, personifying the purity of awareness of ultimate reality. He is also known as the primordial Buddha of all mandalas since he is a reflection of all Buddha qualities. He wears the robes and ornaments of a bodhisattva, has one face and two arms, and his right hand holds a vajra to his heart and a bell to his left hip. Dorje Sempa’s hundred-syllable mantra is said to bring purification of anger and hatred.

Each thangka is created using traditional methods and strictly adhering to the proportions of deities as they are laid down in Buddhist scripture. Our appliqu̩éd thangkas are created using hundreds of hand-cut and embroidered pieces of satin and brocade silk, stitched together with Mongolian horsetail. Each piece is a witness to a unique tradition that survives intact to this day.
